The curriculum will obviously be part of the overall uniform education system being visualized for Punjab. It has to be relevant to the future needs as well and must be creative and innovative. Basically the child has to be exposed to school education to be a change agent who should have sense of pride in our country, civic sense, awareness about fundamental rights, fine arts, carpentry, gardening, etc.
In all, 9 subjects were recommended for Class VI. It was also considered that History and Geography were important subjects being ignored. The younger generation must be acquainted with History as well as Geography.
A Zero Semester for pre training of students would be required who would be from all kinds of socio-economic background as well as schooling.
3RS comprising reading, writing and mathematics are also considered essential part of curriculum.
Young students will be exposed to problem solving and project based learning. These are not subjects, but basically these are pedagogical approaches.
